Urgences-santé: a major strategic coaching project

Urgences-santé, the only public corporation providing prehospital emergency services in Quebec, was looking for a firm that would provide technological coaching services to help it make its web site as user-friendly as possible, considering its new communications objectives and leveraging Best Web Practices. Rather than a services provider, it sought a partner who was a usability expert and who could coach the organization towards self-sufficiency in terms of online communications.

The emergency services organization, which serves Montreal and Laval, chose multiple-media.com after a selection process based on the agency’s track record. The mandate: first, collect the necessary information from the various stakeholders; second, organize the contents in a user-centric perspective, bearing in mind the site’s assigned objectives and various audiences; and, third, suggest a step-by-step improvement scheme.

“What is special about the Urgences-santé is that everything relating to the mission of this organization takes on a vital importance”, said Renato Cudicio, president of multiple-media.com. “Just as ambulance paramedics must conform to established procedures in the event of an emergency, the Urgences-santé web site must comply with best practices and optimize available technologies for maximum reliability and effectiveness. In this respect, we can say that the project really taps into our agency’s resources and competencies."

Delivering tangible results

For Urgences-santé, this user-centered design project will produce important benefits by facilitating communications with its various clienteles and by helping various user groups–health organizations, ambulance attendants and operators, managers, employees, general public, etc.– develop the habit of referring to the site.
